Covered here

51

All 50 states, plus Washington DC. Nothing is left out.

No tax on wages

9

Live in one of these and your whole state bill on a wage is nil.

One flat rate

16

Same percentage whatever you earn.

States with no tax on wages

Alaska, Florida, New Hampshire, Nevada, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, Wyoming. You still file a federal return, and businesses may still owe state taxes.

States with one flat rate

Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Utah. A pay rise here does not push you into a higher state band, so the saving comes from deductions and credits instead.
